 Who I Work With

I specialize in supporting neurodivergent individuals, those navigating significant anxiety, and families looking for a path forward.

  • Individuals with Anxiety & Trauma: I help those feeling stuck in "fight or flight" mode move toward a state of groundedness and control.

  • Neurodivergent Individuals (Autism & ADHD): I provide specialized support for those whose brains are wired differently, focusing on self-understanding and functional success.

  • Students with Learning Differences: I support those with Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia in understanding their unique learning profiles.

  • Families & Parents: I work with families to manage behavioral concerns (ages 8+), improve communication, and create a supportive home environment.

    • Adoption & Foster Care Support: Using my Training for Adoption Competency (TAC), I help families navigate the specific journeys of attachment, identity, and grief that can accompany adoption.

My Treatment Approach

I believe therapy is most effective when it is transparent and practical. I don't just "talk" about problems; I help you understand and solve them.

1. Trauma-Informed & Meet-and-Move

I meet you exactly where you are today. I prioritize emotional safety and a non-judgmental atmosphere, ensuring we move forward at a pace that respects your history and comfort level.

2. Education-First Therapy

I believe that knowledge is power. A large part of our work involves "Psychoeducation"—explaining the biology of anxiety or the mechanics of a neurodivergent brain. When you understand the why behind a feeling, it becomes much easier to manage.

3. Actionable CBT Tools

As a Certified Anxiety Treatment Professional, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to provide you with a concrete "toolbox." We focus on:

  • Identifying and reframing unhelpful thought patterns.

  • Developing actionable coping strategies for real-world triggers.

  • Building executive functioning skills for ADHD management.

4. Systemic Family Inclusion

For children and adolescents, I believe the family is the primary engine for change. I include parents in the process to ensure that the tools we learn in the office are successfully implemented at home.

STEPS: How We Begin

Finding the right therapist or evaluator is a significant decision. My goal is to ensure that our partnership is the right "click" for your specific needs. Here is the path we take together:

1. The Discovery Call/Email exchange (10–15 Minutes)

Every new relationship starts with a brief, no-cost phone consultation. This allows us to discuss your primary concerns, my current availability, and whether my expertise aligns with your goals. It’s a low-pressure way for you to get a "feel" for my style.

2. The Initial Intake

If we decide to move forward, we will schedule a formal intake session. This is an in-depth conversation where we dive into your history, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve.

3. Building the Foundation

For counseling, the first few sessions are dedicated to building rapport. Trust isn't instant; it’s earned. Especially for children and neurodivergent young adults, I take the time to ensure they feel safe and understood before we dive into deep clinical work.

4. Ensuring the Right Fit

I am a firm believer that the therapeutic match is the #1 predictor of success. If at any point during our initial sessions I feel that another specialist’s expertise would serve you better, I will tell you.

"I am not shy about recommending a colleague if I believe they are a better fit for your specific journey. Your progress and well-being are my highest priorities."
