About Teletherapy

Teletherapy, also referred to as Telemental health, involves the use of electronic communications to enable physicians and other healthcare professionals, including mental healthcare professionals, to improve the access to quality and appropriate care. Teletherapy includes the practice of health-care delivery, evaluation diagnosis, consultation, treatment, transfer of medical data, and education using interactive audio, video, or data communications. Treatment Providers may include, but are not limited to, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, counselors, clinical social workers, and marriage and family therapists.

Teletherapy services with Christopher Klein, PhD, are available to Oklahoma Residents and those within the PSYPACT jurisdiction (Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (PSYPACT), APIT# 9017). I provide teletherapy services for individual adults (18+), Families, and Children (12+). Teletherapy services are also available for face-to-face clients on an as needed basis if deemed to be necessary and appropriate for treatment. At this time teletherapy services are only being offered via videoconferencing. Sessions will not be conducted through email or text messaging though the client may choose to communicate with me through these electronic mediums in accordance with the Electronic Communication Policy provided at or before the in-take session.

*Most insurance companies cover teletherapy; please check your benefits for coverage details.

Minors and Teletherapy

Teletherapy is not recommended for children under the age of 12 given that the services are often interactive and play based. However, children can vary in levels of emotional development and maturity; therefore, appropriateness can be evaluated for children in the 10-13 age range.

***As of 01/01/2026, possible virtual Autism Assessments may be completed for all ages. ***

  • I offer virtual assessments to provide a flexible option for families and individuals. Since a thorough and accurate diagnosis is my top priority, I may recommend an in-person follow-up if the virtual format doesn't feel like the perfect fit for your specific needs and/or more information is needed that can only be obtained in-person. Let's work together to find the path that works best for you!
